Captain Marina stood at the helm of her submarine, the Deep Sea Explorer. Today, she was taking a group of kids on an amazing underwater adventure!
"Ready to discover the ocean?" she asked with a big smile.
"READY!" the kids cheered!
The submarine dove down into the deep blue water. Above them, the ocean surface rippled and splashed!
"Listen carefully," said Captain Marina. "The ocean is the biggest concert hall on Earth â and it's full of music!"
Suddenly, a magical song filled the entire submarine. [ð Whale Song] [ð Whale Song] [ð Whale Song]
"That's a humpback whale singing!" Captain Marina explained. "Whales sing to talk to other whales far, far away â their songs can travel hundreds of miles through the water!"
The enormous whale swam past the submarine window, so close the kids could see its barnacles. It sang its beautiful song one more time! [ð Whale Song]
"Look over there!" shouted a boy named Jack, pointing at the window.
A pod of dolphins was zooming toward them! [ðŽ Dolphin Click] [ðŽ Dolphin Click] [ðŽ Dolphin Click]
"Dolphins use clicking sounds to find fish and talk to each other," Captain Marina explained. "It's called echolocation â like a built-in underwater sonar!"

"They're playing with us!" laughed a girl named Lily.
As they dove deeper, a sleek shadow glided past the window. [ðĶ Shark Splash]
"A shark!" gasped the kids.
"Don't worry," Captain Marina laughed. "This is a reef shark â it eats fish, not submarines! Sharks are actually very important for keeping the ocean healthy."
The shark turned and swam away gracefully. [ðĶ Shark Splash]
Near a reef covered in colorful coral, they spotted something amazing â an octopus changing colors! [ð Octopus Squirt] [ð Octopus Squirt]
"Octopuses are like underwater ninjas!" said Captain Marina. "They can change color, squirt ink, and squeeze through tiny spaces!"
A squid shot past the window like a tiny rocket! [ðĶ Squid Splash]
"Squids jet through the water by squirting water behind them," Captain Marina said. "Nature invented rockets long before humans did!"
Down near the sandy bottom, a family of seals tumbled and played! [ðĶ Seal Bark] [ðĶ Seal Bark] [ðĶ Seal Bark]
"Seals are such goofballs!" laughed Captain Marina. "They can hold their breath for almost two hours and swim faster than most fish!"
Near an underwater cave, they spotted a sea otter floating on its back, cracking open a shellfish! [ðĶĶ Otter Chirp] [ðĶĶ Otter Chirp]
"Sea otters are one of the only animals that use tools!" Captain Marina pointed out. "They use rocks to crack open clams â very smart!"
The otter chirped again and dove down to find more food. [ðĶĶ Otter Chirp]
In the colder waters near the icy surface, they saw a penguin zooming underwater like a torpedo! [ð§ Penguin Call] [ð§ Penguin Call]
"Penguins can't fly in the air, but underwater they're incredible!" Captain Marina said. "They're basically flying through the ocean!"
A whole school of glittering fish swam past, creating a dazzling silver cloud! [ð Fish Bubble] [ð Fish Bubble] [ð Fish Bubble]
"Those fish are moving together to confuse predators," Captain Marina explained. "Together they look like one giant creature!"
Then Captain Marina pointed to something extra special in the deep, dark water far below them.
"That clicking sound you can hear?" she whispered. "That's a sperm whale â the deepest diving animal on Earth! They dive over a mile down into the darkness!" [ðģ Sperm Whale Clicking] [ðģ Sperm Whale Clicking]
"They use clicking sounds â even louder than a jet engine â to find giant squid in the pitch-black deep ocean!" [ðģ Sperm Whale Clicking]
As they headed back toward the surface, all the ocean sounds played together like a symphony! [ð Whale Song] [ðŽ Dolphin Click] [ðĶ Seal Bark]
"The ocean is like a giant concert hall," said Lily.
"And we need to protect it," Captain Marina added. "These amazing animals need clean, healthy oceans to survive. Every piece of trash we keep out of the ocean helps them!"
All the kids promised to help take care of the ocean and its wonderful creatures!
